The cheapest quote on your desk is often the one with the most blanks. A missing line for name and number printing, an unstated defect rule, or an unclear freight term shows up after approval, when you can no longer negotiate. If you are comparing offers for soccer jerseys, the price per piece is only one of about eight terms that decide what you actually pay and what you receive.
I’m Linjing He, and I have spent 10 years on sportswear factory floors. Most quote disputes I have seen came from terms nobody wrote down, not from bad intentions. This guide covers what to verify line by line, so your final review catches the gaps while they are still cheap to fix.

A usable quote lets you compare two suppliers on identical terms. If one quote lists fabric weight and another does not, you are comparing a specification against a guess. Use the table below as a minimum standard.
| Quote line | What to verify | Red flag |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric | Composition, weight in gsm, stretch type | “Sports fabric” with no composition or gsm |
| Decoration method | Dye sublimation, ink type, which areas are printed | Method not named, or crests and sponsor logos listed as “extra” without a price |
| Names and numbers | Per piece price or included, font and size limits | Priced separately only after the order is confirmed |
| Quantity tiers | Price at your actual quantity, not a “from” price | A headline price that applies only to a much larger volume |
| Lead time | Production days counted from artwork approval or from deposit | No start date for the clock |
| Packaging | Bagging, sorting by size or player, labeling | Silent on packaging |
| Freight and duties | Shipping term, who pays duties and taxes | “Shipping to be advised” |
| Defect and remake terms | Written remedy, time limit to report | Percentage allowance that excuses defects without remake |
Our standard production time is 7 to 10 days, and rush orders are available. Treat any lead time as a number tied to a start event. “10 days” from deposit and “10 days” from artwork sign-off can differ by a week or more on your calendar.
Decoration is where quotes diverge most. Two suppliers can both write “full sublimation” and mean very different things for wash durability.
Our jerseys use 100% polyester, moisture-wicking, 4-way stretch fabric at 140 to 160 gsm for breathability. Sublimation bonds dye into polyester fibers, so a polyester blend with cotton will not hold color the same way. Ask every supplier for composition on the quote itself.
The complaint I hear most is faded prints after repeated washing. We address it with locked-color inks, and we back it with a 1-year colorfastness guarantee. If a competing quote makes no colorfastness statement, ask for one in writing. A supplier unwilling to put a durability term on paper is telling you something.
Limit to remember: color on screen and color on fabric never match exactly. If your club colors are tightly defined, request a sample or a physical color reference before bulk production.
These are the questions I would put to any supplier, including us, at the final review stage. The answers below separate what our terms state from what must be confirmed per order.
| Question | Direct answer | Boundary or limit |
|---|---|---|
| What does the decoration price include? | It should state the method (dye sublimation), the printed areas, and whether names and numbers are included. We quote these as separate, visible lines so you can compare. | Sublimation works on polyester and light to mid base colors best. Complex gradients or very dark placements should be proofed before approval. |
| Is packaging included? | Do not assume so. Ask for bagging method and whether jerseys are sorted by player or size. We confirm packaging in the quote for each order. | Custom retail packaging, hang tags, and branded polybags are usually separate requests. |
| What defect allowance applies? | Our policy is a free reprint for any printing defect or wrong size. We do not hide behind a percentage allowance. | Report defects against the approved sample and size chart. Damage after delivery, or a size ordered differently from the signed chart, is a different case. |
| Who pays freight and duties? | It depends on the shipping term in your quote (for example FOB or delivered). Make the term explicit and ask who handles import duties and taxes. | Freight cost changes with weight, destination, and speed. A figure quoted months earlier may not hold. |
| What is the remake policy? | Printing defects and wrong sizes are reprinted free. Colorfastness is covered by our 1-year guarantee. | Design changes after approval, late roster edits, and misread measurements supplied by the buyer are generally not remake events. |
| Is there a minimum order? | No MOQ. Pricing is based on quantity, so a 20 piece order will price differently from a 500 piece order. | Small runs cost more per piece. Compare tiers, not a single headline price. |
Ask for these answers inside the quote document or the order confirmation, not in chat messages. A remake promise that lives only in a message thread is hard to enforce.
Inconsistent sizing causes more reorders than print quality. We work from a verified size chart to reduce it, but the chart only helps if both sides sign the same one.
Skipping the sample saves a few days and risks the whole order. For a team of 18 players where one size run is wrong, a single mismatch can delay a season opener. If time is tight, ask about rush production and request the sample in parallel with artwork finalization.
A simple illustration: suppose you order 100 jerseys and Supplier A is a small amount cheaper per piece than Supplier B. If A leaves names and numbers off the quote and later adds them per piece, the apparent savings can reverse. This is a hypothetical, but it is the pattern I see most often when buyers compare quotes side by side.
We have supplied 500+ sublimated jerseys for a US high school basketball league and produced full custom uniforms for an Australian soccer club’s three teams. We also delivered 1000 event jerseys for a European marathon. Those cases show we handle multi team and high volume orders. They do not mean every order follows the same timeline, because lead time depends on quantity, artwork readiness, and shipping.
Behind them is an ISO 9001 certified and ISO 14001 certified operation, a 1000 sqm factory in Guangzhou with 100+ workers, and 5 automatic dye sublimation printing lines. Daily output reaches 1000+ custom jerseys. That capacity is why rush orders are possible, though rush timing is always confirmed per order.
If you want to see range, browse our Soccer Jerseys category, or review the broader custom team jerseys range if you are outfitting several sports. Clubs that also need training layers can check the custom sport jacket options so warm ups match the kit.

If any box is empty, send the quote back with the missing question rather than approving and hoping. A supplier who answers clearly at this stage is usually easier to work with after the deposit.
If you have competing quotes in hand, send them to us with your quantity and roster size. We will return an itemized quote showing decoration, packaging, freight, and remake terms line by line, and can arrange a sample before you commit.
